Heading Home Christmas by Terry Redlin |
Terry Redlin

was a South Dakota artist best known for painting scenes of rural and natural American scenes. Some of my favorite works by him were his winter and Christmas themed paintings. He was born in Watertown, South Dakota, grew up there, and spent his life there. He had to retire in 2007 due to his progression of Alzheimer's disease and spent his latter years in a nursing home. On April 24th, 2016, he died at age 78 due to the effects of dementia. It is thought that the lead in the paints he used
contributed to his Alzheimer's.
On the day of his funeral, South Dakota's state flags were lowered to half staff in memory of him. He was definitely an iconic, well-known, and well-respected artist and individual in Watertown, in South Dakota, and his work was appreciated by 'fans' of his art nationwide. Read about him
